The Midwest is, somewhat unexpectedly, ready to take on a national leadership role on climate and clean energy. Democrats control all three chambers of state government in Michigan, Minnesota, and Illinois. If the past is precedent, this means that we can expect clean energy and climate policies on the horizon. Minnesota just joined Illinois and 21 other states to take the 100% pledge, and they don't seem done yet. Despite recently passing the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), Illinois is exploring additional legislative solutions to the climate crisis. And all eyes are on Michigan - will they pass their own 100% commitment or take a different approach? This panel of policy leaders will provide an overview of what to watch across the Midwest.
