As President of Greener by Design, Adam Zellner has built a strong foundation in economics, finance, and planning through his company and with its respected clients. Mr. Zellner works directly with a variety of corporate and government entities that focus on energy and sustainability issues, with clientele that includes several Fortune 500 companies. In addition, he continues to work on policy issues that affect a variety of elected officials and governments, both in the United States and overseas, that contain a special interest in integrating emerging technologies.
Previously to administrating his own business, Mr. Zellner served as Policy Director for the State of New Jersey and also held the position as Deputy Commissioner for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. As the former Executive Director to New Jersey’s Office of Smart Growth and the New Jersey Highlands Council, he has significant experience in providing regulatory support and permitting assistance in the many different areas of the green building sector. In the early stages of his career, Mr. Zellner had the privilege of working alongside several members of the United States Congress and the New Jersey State Legislatures on numerous developments.
Mr. Zellner currently holds a position as an adjunct Professor at Rutgers University where he teaches courses that highlight important aspects of his career. He is the author and co-author of numerous energy and sustainability policies such as the Renewable Portfolio Standard, Energy Master Plan, and the Global Warming Response Act for the State of New Jersey. He continues to lecture around the world on these topics while applying his own personal experience to educate other on changing policies and regulations.
