Speaker Bio
Genevieve is motivated to help commercial property owners transform our buildings infrastructure to affordable, clean, energy efficient resources. As the Head of Sustainability & Policy, Genevieve leads Nuveen Green Capital’s impact data collection efforts as well the geographic expansion of Commercial PACE policies, now adopted in 38 states.
With nearly $1B deployed nationally to small, on-site commercial clean energy systems, C-PACE has been a major driver of solar implementation in the unrated commercial real estate space. Genevieve spearheaded the design and implementation of the nation’s first state C-PACE program at the Connecticut Green Bank from 2012 -2016. She then joined her colleagues to start Greenworks Lending, which until its 2021 acquisition by Nuveen, expanded lending from one to over three dozen states and completed the first ever rated securitizations of C-PACE loans – including over 200 solar projects now funded across fourteen states. Genevieve continues to support deployment of solar in commercial real estate and serves on the Credit Support working group of the Clean Energy Buyer’s Institute.
Genevieve holds a Master of City Planning and Certificate in Environmental Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BA in Urban Studies from Columbia University.
