Description
In 2022, the City of Chicago announced a major new retail electricity supply agreement with Constellation NewEnergy. The ESA includes an innovative sleeved PPA with Swift Current Energy to off-take energy from a large under-construction solar farm in Central IL that will virtually power many of the City of Chicago's large facilities. The project will allow the City to utilize 100% renewable electricity supply for its municipal operations starting in 2025. How did this project come to fruition and how can other cities around the Midwest follow suit?
